Hamilton: Elmo, Christopher Jackson sing in Ham4Ham video

Ladies and gentleman, the moment you’ve been waiting for: the pride of Sesame Street, General Elmo.

Elmo stopped by the Richard Rodgers Theatre this weekend to record a special performance of Hamilton’s “The Story of Tonight” with Christopher Jackson, who plays George Washington in the hit musical.

Since the hit Broadway show’s $10 lottery went online for the winter, creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda has been recording special performances and behind-the-scenes videos as part of the #Ham4Ham program. Past guests include Jimmy Fallon, Weird Al Yankovic, and Audra McDonald.

The Sesame Street video comes one day before the cast of Hamilton is set to perform their opening number at this year’s Grammy Awards, broadcasting live via satellite from New York.
