He came. He saw. He pooped.

That pretty much sums up the Survivor experience for Darnell Hamilton, who was the first person voted out of Survivor: Kaôh Rōng after he decided to “aqua dump” in front of the rest of his tribe and then lost the diving mask during the challenge and was unable to retrieve any of the four paddles.

So it was a rough three days for sure for Darnell. He told us all about it when he called into Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) on Thursday morning, and now you can hear the interview right here on the InsideTV Podcast. And Darnell began with a warning: “I didn’t get much sleep last night so I’m on fumes right now.” Wait, what kind of fumes? Is this Darnell’s gut talking to him again? Some highlights from our chat:

On dropping a deuce in front of the rest of the tribe:

“When you have to go, you got to go. We had a designated area, the dump rocks over there. It wasn’t like I just pulled my pants down. I went to the designated area.”

On losing the tribe’s diving mask during the challenge:

“It was a freak accident. They came off. When you haven’t eaten in a couple of days and you’re dehydrated, you go out there, you don’t think. I didn’t think to hold my face when I jumped in the water. Next thing I look, they’re gone.”

On also not retrieving any paddles after losing the mask:

“I tried to get it, but I couldn’t. I went down there and tried to untie some of them. I did try to get some of the paddles.”

On Kyle Jason (who told them all to call him Jason for some reason):

“Jason was all over the place. He had alliances with everyone. He was a wild card for me.”

On if he sensed he was going home when he went to Tribal Council:

“I had a sense it was me, just by the body language from a lot of people like Scot Pollard. He didn’t really want to talk to me. He was very, very upset with me.”

On his thoughts after the first vote tie:

“I had no clue what was going on. Maybe it was an idol situation because a lot of people were scared about idols. So I thought maybe they were trying to flush an idol out”

The ousted player also reveals the people he considered his closest allies in the game and why he forgot to bring his bag after he got voted off. You can listen to the entire interview by clicking on the audio player icon below.

But that’s not all the Survivor podcasting we have for you today. Jeff Probst also called in to talk about the premiere, the budding bromance that will be developing between Tai and Caleb, and the franchise as a whole.

However, we start with some scripted fare as Danai Gurira from The Walking Dead chats about Michonne and the show, as well as the two plays she wrote opening in New York. And then funnyman T.J. Miller of Silicon Valley talks with us about what’s coming up on the HBO comedy as well as his role in the blockbuster Deadpool.
