Dozens of stars and musicians have spoken out in support of Kesha, including Lady Gaga, who on Wednesday posted a photo of herself with the embattled pop star.

Captioned with the words “Free Kesha,” Gaga’s Twitter pic shows the women with their heads bent together, eyes closed, hands clasped. Gaga also spoke out in support of Kesha last week, tweeting, “There are people all over the world who love you @KeshaRose. And I can say truly I am in awe of your bravery.”

Gaga, Demi Lovato, Adele, and many other musicians have publicly expressed support for Kesha, who also received $250,000 from Taylor Swift to help with her legal costs. Earlier on Wednesday, Kesha thanked fans and fellow singers for standing with her and addressed the uncertainty surrounding her future as a recording artist.

“All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused,” Kesha wrote in the statement. “This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract – it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal. This is about being free from my abuser. I would be willing to work with Sony if they do the right thing and break all ties that bind me to my abuser.”

Kesha is in the midst of a legal battle with music producer Dr. Luke and his Sony-owned label, Kemosabe. The singer alleges Dr. Luke abused her physically and sexually, and has asked to be released from her contract. Dr. Luke has denied the allegations in court and on social media. “I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister,” he wrote earlier this week. Dr. Luke has also referenced a 2011 deposition where Kesha said she never had a sexual relationship with the producer (video of the deposition appeared online this week).

A preliminary injuction sought by Kesha in the case was denied last week by a New York State court. For more details on Kesha and Dr. Luke’s lawsuit, see EW’s explainer.
