House of Cards: Robin Wright on Beau Willimon's departure from Netflix series

By now, a good portion of Netflix subscribers have burned through the addictive fourth season of House of Cards. But one of the biggest twists of this latest installment in the political drama happened behind the scenes: series creator Beau Willimon announced in February that he would be stepping down as showrunner. The void would be filled by Cards writers Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese.

In a conversation with EW, Robin Wright revealed her position on the changing of the guard. “They’re writers that have been in the room,” says the actress of Gibson and Pugliese. “They’re very accomplished and very adept. Really and truly, we’ve been doing this long enough where we all kind of do this in our sleep and we know how to work together as a team. We’re no longer novices which is nice when it comes to this show,” she adds with a laugh. “So I think it’s all gonna be fine.”
