Carl Weathers has joined the cast of Chicago Justice, Dick Wolf announced at the PaleyFest panel honoring the uber-producer on Saturday night.

“We start shooting the Chicago Justice spinoff next week,” Wolf said. “It’s a real thrill to announce that the State’s Attorney for Cook County, which is the D.A. of Chicago, will be Carl Weathers. He’s quite an amazing presence. He looks remarkably good in a suit.”

Chicago Justice, originally titled Chicago Law, will delve into the world of lawyers and prosecutors in Chicago. Should Justice move forward to series, it will be the third spinoff from flagship series Chicago Fire. Similar to how Chicago Med characters first debuted on Chicago Fire, the Justice characters will be introduced in a backdoor pilot on the 21st episode of Chicago P.D. this year.

The former professional football player turned actor, who is best-known for portraying Apollo Creed in the Rocky franchise, joins the previously cast Philip Winchester, Joelle Carter, and Nazneen Contractor.
