Megan Fox took a break from pondering the point of Twitter to film a sequel to 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a blockbuster comic book adaptation that saw the actress primarily emoting toward CGI characters, and a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows has premiered online.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows sees the anthropomorphic teen reptiles fighting the forces of evil once again, this time battling Dr. Baxter Stockman (new cast member Tyler Perry), the Foot Clan, and returning enemy, The Shredder.
Michael Bay reprises his producer role on the rebooted series’ sophomore entry, and the returning cast includes Fox, Will Arnett, Johnny Knoxville, and William Fichtner. Professional TV show introducer Laura Linney also makes an appearance toward the beginning of the new trailer as police chief Rebecca Vincent.
“This turned out really well, way better than I could have ever hoped,” Fox told Screen Rant of the original film, which earned a 21 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes ahead of earning Razzie nominations for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel.
In February, character posters showing Michaelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello overlooking various locales throughout New York City were released.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theaters June 3.
