Billy Dee Williams is back as Colt 45 pitchman in new commercial

Billy Dee Williams may not have reprised Lando Calrissian for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but he’s back in another iconic role: Colt 45 spokesman.

Before fans start dream-casting Young Lando in the upcoming Han Solo prequel, Williams himself is here to remind everyone about the power of a true original. A new commercial for Colt 45 mixes clips of decades-old ads with Williams, with the actor’s voice intoning, “Sometimes change isn’t always a good thing when you got it right the first time around. Sometimes a true original doesn’t need to change a thing.” Then the modern-day Williams appears at the finish alongside Colt 45’s classic slogan, “It works every time.”

“I suppose that it has always been a part of my life because I put a face on it and a voice to it for so many years,” Williams told USA Today of his Colt 45 return, which he said highlighted “how interesting life is.”
