Jennifer Lopez on Shades of Blue finale: Det. Harlee Santos threatens to kill her ex

Hell hath no fury like a mad mama – especially so when the parental in question is Jennifer Lopez starring as a morally ambigious cop.

In an clip from the upcoming season finale of Shades of Blue shared exclusively with PEOPLE and EW, Lopez — in character as Detective Harlee Santos — is seen holding a gun and getting decidedly heated as she confronts her abusive ex-flame, Miguel (guest star Antonio Jaramillo). At stake? The safety of her beloved daughter Christina (Sarah Jeffrey).

“You’re nothing to her,” Harlee tells Miguel. “You’re a liar.”
