Rizzoli & Isles premiere slated for June 6

The seventh and final season of crime drama Rizzoli & Isles is set to premiere on June 6, TNT revealed Tuesday. The network also announced season premiere dates for the rest of its summer slate, including Major Crimes, Murder in the First, and The Last Ship, as well as the series premiere date for its new drama, Animal Kingdom.

Towards the end of its sixth season, TNT boss Kevin Reilly announced that the network would not be picking up the Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander procedural for an eighth season. The last season will kick off on Monday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.

While one crime drama may be ending for the channel, another is just beginning. TNT recently released the trailer for its new series, Animal Kingdom, which stars Ellen Barkin and Scott Speedman as members of a crime family. The new series will premiere on Tuesday, June 7.

The rest of TNT’s returning series will premiere their new seasons in the weeks following. Post-apocalyptic drama The Last Ship starts its third season on Sunday, June 12, at 9 p.m.; police drama Major Crimes will premiere its fifth season Monday, June 13, at 10 p.m.; and detective anthology series Murder in the First will debut its third season on Sunday, June 19, at 10 p.m.
