What can we expect from Luke Cage? “Prepare for badassery!” exclaimed Mike Colter during a panel at Wizard World in St. Louis this weekend.

After debuting the character in Jessica Jones season 1, Colter will go on to headline his own Netflix and Marvel series later this year, and he teased the reemergence of the impenetrable strongman at the fan convention.

“He’s going to do a lot of badass stuff! Prepare for badassery,” he said, after confirming for fans, “Yeah, I’m going to say Sweet Christmas a lot.”

The series will see more of the origin of this character, and Colter said, “I think we show it in a really cool way.” The actor later added, “He wasn’t trying to be a superhero [in Jessica Jones]. The series [Luke Cage is] about him growing into that.”

Outside of the panel, Colter posed for a photo with another Marvel strongman, Lou Ferrigno, who famously played the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk TV series from the ’90s.

During the New York premiere of Daredevil season 2, Colter announced the premiere date for Luke Cage is set for Sep. 30. The series will feature Simone Missick (Ray Donovan) as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) as Shades, Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction) as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Sonia Braga (Angel Eyes) as Claire’s mom, Soledad.
