SNL: Al Sharpton joins Kenan Thompson's Al Sharpton on Politics Nation

In a rare moment on SNL, the impersonator and his subject met on the sketch comedy battlefield as Kenan Thompson’s Al Sharpton brought out the real deal on a spoof of Politics Nation.

The real Sharpton portrayed the fake one’s statistical analyst, Charles Richards. “Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I expected you to be a little skinnier,” he said.

The pair analyzed Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders‘ race in the Democratic primary using Richards’ Black Approval Rating Scale, which measures each candidate’s standing in the black community. According to his calculations, Richards gives Clinton a 7.2 because her husband, Bill Clinton, could “walk into the B.E.T. Awards afterparty, sit at Rihanna’s table, and order up a bowl of mac ‘n’ cheese, everybody would say, ‘That seems right.'”

Sanders got a slightly lower score because “he seems like the kind of person who still calls Muhammad Ali ‘Cassius.'”
