Castle stars react to Stana Katic, Tamala Jones exits

In the wake of the news that both Stana Katic and Tamala Jones are slated to exit Castle ahead of a potential ninth season, their costars are using Twitter to share their reactions to the news.

Toks Olagundoye, who plays Hayley on the show, took to Twitter to express to fans that has no control over what happens with the show and played no part in the exits. As she put it, “I did nothing except persevere and work hard in a difficult heartbreaking and almost impossible industry.”

And much like Olagundoye, Jon Huertas, who’s played Detective Esposito – the on-again, off-again romantic interest of Tamala Jones’ Lanie Parish — since the show’s inception, expressed that the news breaking online Monday was the first he’d heard it.

Furthermore, Huertas revealed that he is yet to be asked back for a season 9 — to be fair, the show hasn’t officially been renewed — but he hopes that, if given the chance, fans will stick with the show.

Also chiming in is Seamus Dever, who plays Kevin Ryan on the show. Dever called Katic a “good partner and a good friend,” and said he “can’t wait” to see what Jones does next.
