Shows like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars have hooked millennial audiences with gorgeous, well-dressed casts, and gasp-worthy, soapy plot twists, but all that self-serious drama is getting turned on its head in the new parody series Filthy Preppy Teen$.

The satire actually aired its first iteration as a short on Adult Swim in 2013 under the slightly different title Filthy Sexy Teen$. While some plot points have carried over from the 2013 short (a straight male student pretending to be gay for popularity, a student who transforms into a monster), the cast for the 2016 series has largely changed — notable cast members from the original short Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) and Casey Wilson (Happy Endings) are replaced by new stars like Max Carver (The Leftovers) and Dylan Gelula (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). The only main cast members still in place are Hannah Kasulka as the female lead and Chris Parnell, who makes a smaller appearance.

Filthy Preppy Teen$ comes from the minds of Paul Scheer, Jonathan Stern, and Curtis Gwinn, who have all collaborated before on the police procedural parody series NTSF:SD:SUV. For Scheer and Stern in particular, this is the latest in a long line of parody series: Scheer created The Real Hotwives franchise and the Total Request Live parody Scheer-RL, while Stern was behind The Bachelor parody Burning Love and the medical drama satire Childrens Hospital. Although Gwinn co-created the original Filthy Sexy Teen$ short, he’s gone on to produce more dramatic series such as The Walking Dead and The Leftovers.

Filthy Preppy Teen$ will be one of the handful of original series to premiere on the new streaming service Fullscreen, which is launching Tuesday, April 26. Directed at a 13-to-30-year-old demographic, Fullscreen aims to incorporate social media and unique search options to draw the more technologically-engaged younger audience. Other notable Fullscreen originals include Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart’s reboot series Electra Woman & Dyna Girl and the self-shot docu-series My Selfie Life.
