There’s no denying that Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a confident perfomer — her all-in commitment to comedy has created iconic television characters such as Elaine Benes on Seinfeld and Selina Meyer on Veep. However, one time she felt her confidence waver was just last year, when Louis-Dreyfus was filming a sketch for Inside Amy Schumer.

Called “Last F—able Day,” the segment features Louis-Dreyfus alongside Tina Fey and Patricia Arquette, as the trio satirize the way Hollywood treats actresses as they get older. (The premise of the sketch is that every actress has a celebration on the day they are no longer deemed sexually desirable by the movie industry.)

“You know, about halfway through making it, the more I thought about it, I was like, ‘Wait a minute, is this true?'” Louis-Dreyfus told PEOPLE and EW editorial director Jess Cagle during the latest edition of The Jess Cagle Interview. “I will admit to you about halfway through the day I had a crisis of confidence, but anyway I’ve recovered.”

Despite that momentary worry, Louis-Dreyfus gushed about the “feminist, funny idea” of the sketch, which was directed by the comedian’s prior collaborator Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said).

“[Holofcener] reached out to me and said that Amy Schumer had this sketch and would I do it, and she described it to me, and I was like, ‘Yeah, that sounds awesome. It’s a good, feminist, funny idea.’ And so we did it; we shot it in a day,” Louis-Dreyfus said.

Speaking to EW last year, Schumer recalled how wonderful the experience of shooting “Last F—able Day” was for her. “I got to listen and worship them,” she said of Louis-Dreyfus, Arquette, and Fey. “We made each other laugh all day long. It was really the best.”

See Louis-Dreyfus back as the lead of Veep, which returns for its fifth season Sunday night on HBO. Check out the full interview with Louis-Dreyfus below, and listen to it again on Sirius XM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio (ch. 105) this weekend.
