Without going as far to say, “Help me, Captain America, you’re my only hope,” Sebastian Stan discusses the relationship between Bucky Barnes (a.k.a. The Winter Soldier) and Steve Rogers in the latest Captain America: Civil War featurette.

“Bucky Barnes is learning about what a killing machine he’s been and how much damage he’s done across the years,” Stan says, later adding that he’s “realizing that Steve Rogers, to some extent, is his only hope.”

After seemingly plummeting to his death in World War II, Captain America: The Winter Soldier revealed that Hydra found Bucky and brainwashed him into becoming a bionic-armed assassin. “Steve feels a certain sense of guilt based on what happened to Bucky,” Chris Evans says in the video.

The Winter Soldier’s presence in Civil War will serve to exacerbate the overarching conflict: the Sokovia Accords, which seek to impose governmental control over the Avengers. What ensues is a battle between Team Iron Man and Team Captain America over what should be done.

The film will hit theaters on May 6.
