Captain America: Civil War: Paul Rudd fanboyed over Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Robert Downey Jr., more

According to Paul Rudd, he was “working in a bubble” on Ant-Man. So when he got to the set of Captain America: Civil War, which features just about every Avenger, he had his own fanboy freakout.

“All of a sudden I’m standing around and seeing Robert Downey Jr. in the Iron Man suit and seeing Chris Evans, and they’re all there. I’ve seen the movies, and I felt like I was 10 years old,” Rudd said on The Graham Norton Show.

“I saw Sebastian Stan getting his arm — the silver arm — on, and it was weird. It was like I was watching somebody bathing,” he continued. “I’m not supposed to see this, but I did. I went over and I just kind of…felt the arm.” Elsewhere, Rudd said he tried out the Captain America shield for himself when Evans took a bathroom break. “Wow! It’s heavier than I imagined,” he said.

This is a case of art reflecting life. Rudd returns as Scott Lang in Captain America: Civil War, and a clip from the film showed the size-shrinking hero geeking out over seeing (and touching) Captain America in the flesh.

The film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, will hit theaters on May 6.
