Mötley Crüe's final concert coming to theaters

Mötley Crüe played their final show last New Year’s Eve at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but fans across the country will be able to relive the gig next month. The band announced Wednesday that it will broadcast Mötley Crüe: The End, a film documenting the performance, for one night only in U.S. theaters on June 14. Screenings will also include “behind-the-scenes footage of the band’s last global tour,” according to a press release.

The New Year’s Eve gig concluded Mötley Crüe’s 34-year touring career — and seems to mark a definitive ending, considering that before embarking on The Final Tour the group’s members signed an agreement pledging none of them would perform again under the Mötley Crüe name.

Before their final concert — where drummer Tommy Lee got stuck upside-down in his drumming rollercoaster — Mötley Crüe promised to release footage of The Final Tour.

“I’m proud we’re going out together and not in pieces like so many before us,” bassist Nikki Sixx told EW last fall. “I’m excited about the future and proud of our past. I’m excited for Tommy, Vince [Neil], and Mick [Mars], and wherever they may roam musically.”
