Lena Dunham mourns Girls actor Nick Lashaway

Lena Dunham mourned Girls guest star Nick Lashaway, who died in a car accident May 8, on Instagram Wednesday, where she called the actor “such a talented, funny, and kind person.”

Lashaway played Frank, a 19-year-old Dunham’s Hannah hooks up with, in a season 2 episode of the HBO show. His previous credits include roles in a 1998 episode of The X-Files, 2010’s The Last Song, and 2004 series Life as We Know It.

“We will always remember the week we shared with him, his playful smile, his easy instincts, how much he made us laugh even when we had to stay up all night in the woods,” Dunham wrote on Instagram. “We are sending love to his family and friends and feeling such gratitude for his gifts. RIP sweet Nick.”
