Meet Eric Carter. Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins takes the lead in a new 24 reboot series from Fox called 24: Legacy, and the network revealed the first image of the actor striking a familiar pose.

Eric is described as a “strong and smart” man who “turned his life around in the Army Rangers.” When he returns to Virginia, he’s pulled back into action by the Counter Terrorist Unit in order to prevent a domestic attack.

24: Legacy also features Miranda Otto as Rebecca, former head of the CTU; Anna Diop as Nicole, Eric’s wife; Teddy Sears as Keith, the new head of the CTU; Jimmy Smits as Rebecca’s husband, a powerful U.S. senator; Dan Bucatinsky and Carol Peña as communication analysts at the CTU; and Charlie Hofheimer as Eric’s former Army Rangers partner now suffering from PTSD.

Original series star Kiefer Sutherland will serve as executive producer on the series alongside original producers Howard Gordon, Manny Coto, and Evan Katz. Last month, Fox officialy ordered Legacy following its pilot pick-up earlier this year.

An earlier statement from the network confirmed “the pilot will feature an all-new cast of characters and retain the real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced format with split screens and complex interweaving storylines, with each episode representing one hour of an eventful day.”

Sutherland played counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer on the original series and its revival run.
