Courtney Barnett: SNL musical guest rocks season finale

Saturday Night Live ended its 41st season with a dose of indie rock as Australian musician Courtney Barnett jammed through a pair of spirited performances at 30 Rock.

After an introduction from host (and former SNL cast member) Fred Armisen, the 28-year-old Sydney native took the Studio 8H stage in jeans and a t-shirt, crooning over guitars and drums as she performed “Pedestrian at Best” and “Nobody Really Cares if You Don’t Go to the Party” from her debut LP, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.

The albumwas released in March 2015, peaking at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and at No. 4 on the Australian charts, where it was also certified Gold. She was later nominated for Best New Artist at the 58th Grammy Awards, though she lost to Meghan Trainor.
