The social media verdict is in on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and it’s good. Really good.
Today in London, a lucky few attended the preview of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage production, finally learning what is happening in the wizarding world 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Theatergoers took to Twitter and Instagram to share their spoiler-free thoughts with those who were unable to attend (let’s face it — that’s pretty much everyone).
Author and creator of the Harry Potter world, J. K. Rowling, asked preview audiences to refrain from spoiling the play, using the hashtag #keepthesecrets.
Audiences have been keeping that promise by limiting their social media posts to quick tidbits about their overall feelings on the show. Andrew Sims of Hypable shared his immediate reaction before the show began.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a high-profile HP event without magical gifts. One user posted a picture of special buttons that were given out at the show.
Here’s a sampling of Cursed Child reactions:

The play premieres July 30 at the Palace Theater in London. The novelization of the script will be released on July 31, Harry Potter’s birthday.
