Something strange and monstrous is coming to theaters.

Director J.A. Bayona has unveiled a twisted new poster for his upcoming version of A Monster Calls, teasing a new look at the titular beast. Adapted from Patrick Ness’ beloved 2011 novel, Bayona’s drama stars Lewis MacDougall as 12-year-old Conor, a lonely boy grappling with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) terminal illness. Struggling to connect with his distant grandmother (Sigourney Weaver) and harassed by his bullying classmates, Conor’s life changes when a mysterious and ancient being (Liam Neeson) shows up at his bedroom window in the middle of the night.

Bayona, who’s known for directing the delightfully creepy Spanish-language horror film The Orphanage and the 2012 tsunami disaster film The Impossible, revealed both the English and Spanish versions of the poster on his Twitter account. See the full English-language poster below.
