Spider-Man: Homecoming: Martin Starr, Logan Marshall-Green join Sony movie

Two new actors have been added to the cast of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, scheduled to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.

EW has learned Logan Marshall-Green, most recently seen in theaters and on demand as the star of Karyn Kusama’s fantastic horror film The Invitation and star of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, has been cast opposite Michael Keaton in a villainous role. (Keaton was in talks, out of talks, and now all-but-confirmed in talks again to play yet another winged creature, the Vulture.)

No word on whether Marshall-Green will share scenes with Spider-Man’s new Aunt May, played by the actor’s one-time girlfriend Marisa Tomei, whom he escorted to the Oscars in 2009.

Also added to the cast is Silicon Valley actor Martin Starr. This won’t be Starr’s first trip into the Marvel Universe — he had a small role as a character named simply “Computer Nerd” in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. But given his pedigree in comedies such as Knocked Up, This Is the End, and a bevy of TV work on Party Down, Freaks and Geeks, and Drunk History, you can probably count on Starr to add a bit of Spidey levity to the proceedings.
