Ben Affleck is currently smack in the middle of filming his second turn as Batman, reprising his role as the Caped Crusader in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League movies. But although he’s hard at work on Justice League, he’s already thinking about Batman’s next adventure.

Speaking to a group of reporters on the set of Justice League, Affleck gave an update on his upcoming solo Batman movie, which he will both direct and star in.

“I think they have a date for [release],” Affleck said, via Collider. “Although, I don’t know if I would necessarily be able to make that date because I don’t have a script that’s ready yet. … My timetable is I’m not going to make a movie until there’s a script that I think is good because I’ve been on the end of the things when you make movies when you have a script that’s not good yet and it doesn’t pan out.”

Affleck added that he’s in no rush to get his Batman to the screen, preferring to take the time to perfect the script (which he’s working on with DC’s Geoff Johns).

“I have a script, we’re still working on it, and I’m not happy enough with it yet to actually go out there and make a Batman movie, for which I have the highest of standards, I would say,” Affleck said. “That’s something that would have to pass a very high bar for me. It’s not just like, ‘Yeah, that might be fun, let’s go try this out.’”

The upcoming Justice League movie, which is set for release on Nov. 17, 2017, unites Affleck’s Batman with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s Flash, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, plus J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
