“Welcome home KD the curse is lifted.”

With a simple tweet Monday morning, rapper Lil B appeared to squash his five-year-long beef with NBA star Kevin Durant, the KD of his tweet, after Durant announced Monday he would be leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors, Lil B’s home team.

Reactions across social media were mixed — L.A. Clippers guard Austin Rivers tweeted, “The western conference regular season and playoffs next year is going to be straight heavy competition!!” while the Brooklyn Nets’ Jeremy Lin posed a simple “Whoa” — but it was B’s that stood out among the masses.

The public feud, which has played out seemingly exclusively on social media, dates back to January 2011 when the basketball player tweeted his dislike of Lil B’s music, saying, “I tried to listen to Lil B and my mind wouldn’t let me do it….can’t believe this guy is relevant.”

Not surprisingly, that didn’t go over well with the rapper, whose real name is Brandon McCartney and also goes by The BasedGod. He later tweeted that Durant “will never win the title after he said ‘Lil B’ is a wack rapper,” and then electronically placed “THE BASEDGODS CURSE” on Durant.

After a couple years of Durant and the Thunder’s seasons getting cut short during playoffs, in March 2014 Lil B posted on Facebook a video for his expletive-titled song, “F–k KD.”

With the curse now lifted and Durant joining the Warriors, who lost the NBA championship in June to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games, don’t be surprised if B writes a new song about LJ.
