The Sundance-screened, and just-released, action-thriller Carange Park is the first collaboration between Last Exorcism actress Ashley Bell and Mickey Keating, writer-director of the recent, Must List-approved ghost tale, Darling. But the pair have already wrapped their next film, Psychopaths, which costars Angela Trimbur (The Final Girls) and Jeremy Gardner (The Battery), among others.

“We were up at Sundance with Carnage Park, and we had our scripts for Psychopaths, and we were having meetings and talking about ideas and so forth,” says Bell. “Psychopaths is completely different in look and style from Carnage Park. At the risk of giving away too much, I play a psychopath. [Laughs]. I live in a completely delusional reality, that I am in a Hollywood musical at all times.”

So, is there singing and dancing? “Oh, yes,” says the actress. “I sing and dance. It was something I’ve always wanted to do, always dreamed of doing. This was the film that let me bump up my dance classes, and bump up my singing classes, all over again.”

Carnage Park is currently playing at the IFC Center in New York and opens at Laemmle’s Noho 7 in Los Angeles on Friday. The film is also available to watch on VOD and via digital platforms.
