Ansel Elgort has officially christened his new music career. The actor-turned-musician premiered his debut single on Friday.
Called “Home Alone,” the electronic entry builds upon his days as a DJ, coupling big, dubstep drops with a sky-high hook. “I don’t want to go home alone,” he sings over glitchy, arpeggiated beats.
Elgort, who first rose to fame for his heart-wrenching turn in The Fault In Our Stars, previously teased his new musical endeavor with a stripped down cover of Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better.” In the past, he’s played DJ sets at a number of high-profile festivals under the moniker Ansolo, and transformed Alesso’s “I Wanna Know” into a slow house remake for the producer’s June remix collection.
Listen to “Home Alone” below. The song will release on Spotify and iTunes July 22.
