In the month following Anton Yelchin’s death, countless Hollywood figures have paid tribute to the 27-year-old Star Trek star; now, his family has issued a touching thank you note to fans and colleagues who offered support as they grieved.

Yelchin’s parents, Irina and Viktor, took out a full-page ad in the most recent issue of The Hollywood Reporter to show their gratitude to those who’ve mourned alongside them in recent weeks.

“Thank you to all of you who have sent flowers and gifts, for your condolences and kind words and to all who came to celebrate the life of our dear son, Anton,” it reads. A black-and-white photo of the actor sits just above the text. “We are deeply grateful for your unconditional love… He would be surprised at how many hearts and souls he touched. Thank you very much.”

The Like Crazy performer was killed in a freak accident which left him pinned between his Jeep Grand Cherokee and a stone column just outside of his Los Angeles home. The car model had previously been recalled due to transmission issues.

Yelchin completed work on a few projects prior to his death, Star Trek Beyond, in theaters July 22, among them. He reprises the role of Pavel Chekov, whom he played in two prior franchise films.
