Fade in on two girls with a hunger for duets.

Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty, stars of NBC’s ill-fated musical-drama Smash, reunited in Los Angeles on Sunday night for two duets from the show.

McPhee was performing at Vibrato Grill & Jazz Club for her third show when she invited Hilty on stage to bust out two showstopping duets from Smash. “Let Me Be Your Star,” Smash fans will remember, was the belty opening number for the Marilyn Monroe musical-within-the show Bombshell. McPhee and Hilty also performed “That’s Life,” a standard made famous by Frank Sinatra.

On Smash, McPhee played wide-eyed ingenue Karen Cartwright and Hilty played ambitious Broadway babe Ivy Lynn, bitter rivals going toe-to-toe for the coveted Marilyn role in Bombshell. While the two characters never became the best of pals, McPhee and Hilty slayed their share of diva duets on the show.
