The Wizarding World has been honored by the Muggles of today with an epic celebratory flash mob for the upcoming release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two.

More than 300 Harry Potter fans formed a massive “Muggle Mob” Thursday in New York City in front of the Scholastic headquarters. With the release of the eighth story in the wizarding franchise just 10 days away, the Scholastic employees and their children took over Broadway in SoHo to read from their favorite Harry Potter books.

The video, which you can see above, displays the two-and-a-half minute event’s reception of cheers and applause from the nearby crowds. As the “Muggle Mob” shifts back and forth holding different entries from the series, they all turn at once to the Scholastic building to raise paddles in the air, emblazoned with the Cursed Child cover. Like magic, the billboard for the upcoming stage play turned novelization cascades down into view.

“Scholastic introduced Harry Potter to readers of all ages nearly 20 years ago,” stated Ellie Berger, President of Scholastic Trade, in a release. “What better way to celebrate the release of the eight story and start the countdown to the biggest publishing event of the summer than to gather a flash mob of dedicated Harry Potter fans eager to share their love of books and reading.”

The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two stage production officially opens in London’s West End on July 30 (it’s currently in previews), while the Special Rehearsal Edition of the eighth story will be released in print by Scholastic in the U.S. and Canada on July 31. Over 5,000 bookstores and libraries will host midnight release parties of the new book, which fans can check for availability in their area here.
