The three months between the Blindspot season 1 finale and season 2 premiere haven’t been very kind to Jane Doe.

At the EW lounge at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, the cast and crew of Blindspot discussed what has been going in with Jane (Jaimie Alexander) since her arrest in the finale. “She had a lot of physical contact over three months with a lot of inanimate objects to the face,” joked Alexander. “I’ve been tortured by the CIA for three months.”

The upcoming season 2 premiere will see the show jumping ahead three months, but the series’ creator Martin Gero promises that flashbacks will show glimpses of what Jane has been going through. “You’ll see little flashes of it, absolutely,” he said. “It’s so brutal so we wanted to keep it as… they’re just literally little flashes of what she’s had to endure and we pick it up kind of three months into it.”

Jane isn’t the only one feeling the affect of her imprisonment, as her team at the FBI feels betrayed. “It’s a hard breakup because we accepted someone into the family and then that someone is unfortunately not who we thought she was,” said Sullivan Stapleton. “She lied, but we also don’t know why she did that and that’s a great start to the second season.”

Blindspot returns to NBC on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the video above.
