All signs point to LeBron James starring in the upcoming Space Jam 2, but basketball legend and star of the original, Michael Jordan, has another baller in mind.

At a basketball camp this week, Jordan was asked, if it was up to him, who would he choose for the lead role in the sequel to his 1996 live-action animated comedy. The Hall of Famer and Charlotte Hornets owner took some time to think it over before responding with Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin.

Griffin has show his comedic side in a series of successful Kia commercials, and last year he even got to show off his basketball skillsa against Looney Tunes character Marvin the Martian in an ad. He also recently had a memorable guest appearance on the latest season of Broad City, where he played himself and bared it all during a hilarious romantic montage with Ilana (Ilana Glazer).

Space Jam found Jordan and members of the Looney Tunes facing off in a game of basketball against aliens, who had stolen the talents of NBA players. The movie made over $230 million at the box office.

Griffin counts himself as a huge fan of the original and last month talked to the Hollywood Reporter about his hopes of being in Space Jam 2: “If you told me at eight years old that I would have an opportunity to maybe be in the second Space Jam movie, my mind would have been blown.”

In May, EW reported James was in talks to star in the follow-up, with Star Trek Beyond and Fast Five director Justin Lin in line to helm the film.
