Ansel Elgort to play twins in indie film Jonathan

Ansel Elgort, best known for his role in The Fault in Our Stars and the Divergent franchise, has joined the independent drama Jonathan, EW has confirmed.

The Bill Oliver-directed film will follow twin brothers Jonathan and John, both played by Elgort, who have made a pact to not have girlfriends. Jonathan, the successful architect and business-minded one of the two, thinks John is breaking that pact after he develops becomes infatuated with a woman, so Jonathan pressures John to end the relationship. In turn, Jonathan starts a relationship with the same woman immediately after, causing a rift between the twins.

Oliver, who directed the short film Guilt, co-wrote the script with Peter Nickowitz. Elgort is set to star in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver and the upcoming remake of Billionaire Boys Club.

Filming for Jonathan will begin in September in New York.
