Season 3 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine opened with the introduction of a new precinct captain, played by Bill Hader. Within minutes, he died like he managed: Efficiently. In swooped the Vulture (Dean Winters) to rule with an iron, douche-y fist. But fortunately, Capt. Holt (Andre Braugher) returned to his rightful post as leader of the Nine-Nine. But now Holt is in the witness protection program with Det. Peralta (Andy Samberg) after a death threat from the yet-to-be-seen Figgis. All of which is to say: We’re getting another new captain of the Nine-Nine this fall. And Ken Marino is the man for that job.

The comedic actor will guest-star on the Fox police comedy as the fill-in captain while Holt and Jake are forced to play neighbors in Florida, EW has learned. Marino’s character — who simply goes by the chill name of C.J. — lucked into this promotion and, unlike Holt, he’s not big into discipline. As you might imagine, Amy (Melissa Fumero) is not thrilled with this leadership style, but the rest of the detectives enjoy having a boss who caves to their wishes.

Marino will appear in two episodes, the first being the second episode of the season. The Childrens Hospital and Wet Hot American Summer alum has popped up everywhere on TV this year, from House of Lies to iZombie to Fresh Off the Boat to Agent Carter to Vinyl.

Samberg’s former SNL castmate Maya Rudolph also signed on for a two-episode guest stint this fall, playing a U.S Marshall who serves as a liaison to Jake and Holt while they are in witness protection.

The season 4 premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Sept. 20 on Fox.
