Just days before Homeland begins filming its sixth season in New York, two familiar faces have joined Showtime’s spy thriller.
EW has learned that Patrick Sabongui will be introduced as a CUNY law professor — and ardent advocate for the Muslim-American community — who works with Carrie (Claire Danes), while Hill Harper will play the chief of staff for U.S. president-elect Elizabeth Keane (House of Cards‘ Elizabeth Marvel).
Sabongui, who has a recurring role on The Flash and will appear in the new Power Rangers movie, also popped up on Arrow, Fringe, and 24. Harper, who recently starred in Limitless, was previously a cast member of Covert Affairs and CSI: NY.
Season 6, which debuts in January, will resume the action several months after the season 5 finale, with Carrie moving back to America and taking a job in New York at a foundation that offers aid to Muslims in the United States. The events of season 6 take place between Election Day and Keane’s inauguration.
