Criminal Minds: Shemar Moore posts and deletes cryptic video

UPDATE: It turns out Shemar Moore might have been referencing a different past Criminal Minds actor in the cryptic video he posted and deleted: According to the Los Angeles Times, guest actor Keith Tisdell pleaded no contest to charges that he stole around $60,000 from Moore after the pair became friends following their work together on a season 8 episode of the show. As part of a plea bargain, Tisdell agreed to pay the former Criminal Minds headliner a total of $61,084.

“In bringing that story to life, we became friends. … We went into business together,” Moore told Judge Hayden Zacky, explaining he involved Tisdell in a charity he’d founded to help battle multiple sclerosis. Also according to the Los Angeles Times, records show Tisdell was arrested for embezzlement in January, though he later admitted to grand theft. An audit reportedly revealed cash was missing from the organization, which Tisdell denied taking.

“In my mind, he wasn’t man enough to look me in the eye and fess up,” Moore said in court. “I’ve done a lot for him because he had me, my friends fooled. I’m not here for money. I’m here because he betrayed a friendship. This is not OK. You don’t do this to people.”

After Tisdell’s sentencing, his attorney handed over $5,000 worth of money orders. If Tisdell fails to repay the remaining $56,000 owed, he could end up in jail.

ORIGINAL STORY: Shemar Moore has seemingly weighed in on the ongoing drama swirling around his former Criminal Minds costar, Thomas Gibson.

The 46-year-old actor, who first appeared on the program in 2005 before departing in 2016, shares his views on karma, compassion, and gossip in a now-deleted Instagram video that implies Gibson’s highly publicized firing from the hit CBS drama was warranted.

“Lot of birdies chirping out there. The gossip is real. I hear it. I see it,” Moore says in the video, which a Twitter user saved before the actor removed it. “I’ll just say this: I believe in karma. Good things happen to good people, honest people, hard-working people, humble people… Good things will happen to you… Treat people how you expect them to treat you.”

Moore continues: “Celebrate yourself; celebrate your blessings — as you should. But just know that you’re not better than anybody. We all have our own gifts, so unwrap them bad boys and show ’em off. But then appreciate other people’s gifts. Church is over.”

Gibson, 54, was let go from Criminal Minds on Friday after a physical altercation with one of the show’s writer-producers, Virgil Williams. The former Dharma & Greg star reportedly kicked Williams in the shins over a dispute about the show’s creative direction.

“I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years,” the Golden Globe nominee said in a statement provided to EW following his dismissal from the program. “I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.”

Representatives for Moore did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
