Naked Trump statue: New York parks dept. scolds unpermitted erection

The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation may have single-handedly made official statements great again.

In response to the appearance and removal of an unauthorized statue depicting a naked Donald Trump in Union Square on Thursday, the department issued a cheeky, carefully worded statement that said, “NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small.”

Titled The Emperor Has No B‑‑‑s and created by the art collective Indecline, the statue portrays the controversial Republican presidential nominee lacking certain reproductive organs and — as the parks department’s statement indicates — not well-endowed.

The statue, which was hauled away after about two hours, was one of five put up across the nation. The other four were in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cleveland, and Seattle.

Representatives for Trump have not returned EW’s request for comment.
