The truth is out there — along with a punchline or two.

Adam Scott and Craig Robinson are starring in a paranomal comedy pilot titled Ghosted, Fox confirmed on Tuesday. The project follows the exploits of a cynical skeptic about all things supernatural (played by Robinson) and a gifted “true believer” (Scott) — think The X-Files, among other things — who are hired by the Underground Investigative Service to explore an outburst of “unexplained” activity in the Los Angeles area. Their investigations lead them to discover that a greater mystery is at play here — one that could end the human race.

That Awkward Moment‘s Tom Gormican is writing the pilot and serving as executive producer alongside Robinson, Scott, and Scott’s wife, Naomi, with whom he created Adult Swim’s The Greatest Event in Television History.

Scott, a vet of Parks and Recreation, and Robinson, an alum of The Office, starred together in Hot Tub Time Machine 2.
