Tim Cook, Pharrell Williams do Carpool Karaoke for Apple Launch

Pharrell Williams hit Apple’s annual fall key note event on Wednesday for a surprise segment of James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke.

Joined by Apple CEO Tim Cook and decked in crazy sunglasses, the trio sang along to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 1974 classic “Sweet Home Alabama” as well as OneRepublic’s “I Lived”; Cook is a noted superfan of the latter, and has praised the band frequently on social media.

The pop-up clip follows Apple’s announcement of the upcoming Carpool Karaoke series, which the company revealed in July. The spinoff will build upon Corden’s viral late night segment, featuring various celebrities as they belt out their biggest hits on a drive with the host.

The show will stream on Apple Music, though no premiere date has been announced. Produced by CBS Television Studios and Late Late Show executive producer Ben Winston’s production company Fulwell 73, the series will be executive produced by Corden and Winston.
