Hulu orders Josh Hutcherson and Seth Rogen's Future Man to series

Josh Hutcherson and Seth Rogen are officially going to the future.

On Friday, Hulu ordered Future Man to series, a half-hour comedy starring Hutcherson and executive produced by Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

The Hunger Games alum stars as Josh Futterman, a janitor and gamer who becomes an unlikely hero when he is selected to travel through time to save humanity from extinction. Rogen and Goldberg directed the pilot for the series, which received a 13-episode order. It marks the duo’s latest television project, joining their AMC drama Preacher.

When talking to EW last month, Coupe shared her excitement about the show. “I’m praying that they pick it up because it’s a really funny show with incredible people involved,” she said. “I think it would be silly if they didn’t pick it up, but again my opinion clearly doesn’t matter; look at all the shows that I’ve been on that have been canceled, which in my opinion are great shows comparatively to the ones that are out there, so my opinion doesn’t matter. I’m not the head of a network or studio — maybe I should be.”

The series, which is also executive produced by Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man) and James Weaver (Preacher), is set to premiere in 2017.
