Space Between Us trailer touches down with Asa Butterfield

You might think growing up on Mars would be quite exciting. However, all The Space Between Us’ Gardner Elliot wants to do is come back down to Earth.

But as the latest trailer for the film shows, there’s one very big catch. The teen (played by Asa Butterfield) can’t withstand Earth’s atmosphere for too long.

This is one, if not the biggest, obstacle Gardner will have to overcome on his quest to find his father. The second is the fact that he knows nothing about him since his mother, one of Mars’ first colonizers, dies giving birth to him.

Lucky for space-traveling teen, he has his friend Tulsa (Britt Robertson) to help him — while also showing him the many wonders of Earth.

The Space Between Us premieres Dec. 16. Watch the new trailer above.
