NBC’s time-travel drama Timeless got off to a fair start Monday night in the ratings, while ABC’s new drama Conviction was sentenced to pretty weak numbers.

Timeless was given a hefty lead-in from The Voice and delivered 7.7 million viewers and a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. That was enough to win the hour but 39 percent below what Blindspot opened to in this period last year.

In the same hour, ABC launched its new legal drama Conviction starring Hayley Atwell to only 5.4 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in the demo. That came in aways below the second half of CBS’ two-hour Scorpion premiere (9.1 million, 1.8)
