It’s the question The Exorcist fans have been asking since the series premiered on FOX two weeks ago: Will an exorcism actually take place this season?

Well, show creator and executive producer Jeremy Slater finally offered an answer at the show’s New York Comic Con panel on Thursday — and it’s sooner rather than later.

“October 21, there’ll be an exorcism,” said Slater. “Episode 5 is a big, big episode. [It will be] 43 minutes of real time exorcism.”

But viewers won’t have to wait till then to get a glimpse at the demonic presence haunting the Rance family. Friday’s episode will feature the creature’s biggest move yet.

“In the first two episodes, the demon in Casey is playing possum,” explained Slater. “Episode 3 is when you’re starting to see the demon manifest for the first time. You’re going to see some real big progression for Casey. People are going to get caught in the crossfire.”

As to where the big event takes place, Slater only offers, “What is the worst place in Chicago where you could be trapped with a demon?”

The Exorcist airs Friday at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
