Doctor Who is no stranger to saving the day, but this Christmas, the Time Lord’s going to get some super help.

As announced at New York Comic Con, Justin Chatwin (Orphan Black, Shameless) will be playing a superhero named Grant — whom you can catch a glimpse of above — in this year’s Christmas special, which will be titled, “The Return of Doctor Mysterio.”

Speaking at New York Comic Con on Friday, Peter Capaldi — who plays the time-and-space-traveling character — described the extended episode as, “A new, ironic, goodhearted superhero movie.”

Also in the special is Matt Lucas, who will once again reprise his role as Nardol. Showrunner Steven Moffat (who also penned the episode) said that the character will be quite different than the last time he was featured on the show, in the 2015 Christmas special.

“[I thought] it would be great if this Doctor had a butler, a valet of sorts,” explained Moffat.

Lucas’ inclusion serves another purpose. The Doctor will be without a companion for a little while longer following Clara’s departure from the TARDIS, as new companion Bill (played by Pearl Mackie) won’t be joining the show until the Season 10 premiere in 2017.
