UPDATED: Billy Bush has been suspended from the TODAY show by NBC, according to an internal memo distributed to the morning program’s staff.

NBC had previously announced Bush would be off air for Monday’s TODAY show, but had declined to elaborate further on his future with the network.

The news comes after the release of a 2005 video of Bush and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump making graphic comments about women, including Trump saying he can grab women “by the p—y” because of his fame.

The memo stated Bush’s status will be updated “pending further review of the matter.”

In the video, which occurred when Bush was on Access Hollywood, the host tells Trump, “Your girl’s hot as sh–, in the purple,” a reference to Days of Our Lives star Arianne Zucker. Bush also participated in a conversation with Trump about then-Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell, where the GOP nominee said he tried to “f—” her.

After the release of the video, Bush issued an apology for his comments. “Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago – I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry,” Bush, 44, said.

Earlier on Sunday, it was reported Bush would likely appear on Monday’s TODAY show.
