Donald Trump has been claiming for years that the Emmys are rigged, and Wednesday night, after Hillary Clinton referenced his claims during the presidential debate and he responded, “Should’ve gotten it,” former Seinfeld costars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander chimed in.

Louis-Dreyfus, who has won nine Emmys over the years, tweeted, “The Emmys are NOT rigged,” and tagged Clinton, Trump, and her HBO show Veep.

The actress, currently starring as Selina Meyer, fictional Vice President turned President of the U.S., first scored at the Emmys in 1996, when she won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Seinfeld. She picked the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy 10 years later for The New Adventures of Old Christine, and has won the same award every year since 2012 for Veep.

It’s no wonder someone with her type of Emmy luck would hope the show’s not rigged. A little less fortunate on that front is Jason Alexander, who portrayed George Costanza on Seinfeld.

“Dammit! Seven losses! I KNEW the Emmys were rigged!” he jokingly tweeted Thursday night.

Alexander was nominated a whopping seven times for Outstanding Supporting Actor on Seinfeld, but, just like his character’s stature, he came up short each time.

It’s a feeling Donald Trump can certainly relate to. After his complaints that the election was rigged, Clinton called him out.

“There was even a time when he didn’t get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row and he started tweeting the Emmys were rigged against him,” she said, referring to The Apprentice, which was nominated for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program in 2004 and 2005.

In just one of many tweets he published on the matter, Trump wrote in 2012, “According to many, and while nominated, I would have won the Emmy many times except for my politics.”

As for their part in the drama, the Television Academy made it clear that their voting system was not, in fact, rigged, and offered up a tweet explaining how voting works.

It won’t be long now before Trump blames his Emmy losses on the true source behind it all: Newman.
