As longtime comedy superstars, Steve Martin and Martin Short can make any situation exponentially more goofy and fun. They proved this once again during their double appearance on The Tonight Show Thursday night. Martin and Short not only played one of Jimmy Fallon’s signature games (True Confessions), they also did a physical comedy skit that involved literal rolling around NYC.

After Fallon accidentally tripped Short, the actor went tumbling down a 30 Rock hallway until he ran into Martin, who subsequently joined him. Martin and Short tumbled together into an elevator, out the doors, and out into the streets of New York, before eventually returning to Fallon for a freeze-frame high-five.

True Confessions was a little less physical, though only marginally less so. After Fallon revealed that his claim to have gotten into a screaming match with Regis Philbin in high school was a lie, Martin and Short both pretended to storm away from the table. They returned for the final round, though, in which Short revealed he used to pretend to be a British exchange student from London in order to impress the ladies.
