Parks and Rec predicted Chicago Cubs World Series victory

And here's the proof

Hollywood predicted the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series — and no, this has nothing to do with Marty’s almanac and Doc Brown’s trash-fueled DeLorean.

In the final season of Parks and Recreation in 2015, Tom (Aziz Ansari) and Andy (Chris Pratt) take a trip to Chicago in 2017 and catch up with Lucy (Natalie Morales) in the second episode, titled “Ron & Jammy.” Taking a stroll through the city, Lucy tells the guys that “obviously everyone’s in a really great mood now because of the Cubs winning the series.”

Just in time for the show’s prediction to become a reality, the Cubs topped the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in the 10th inning during Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday.

However, Schur isn’t looking for praise. “It’s not like I was only person who thought the Cubs were going to be good,” he explained. “Every baseball writer in America knew the Cubs were going to be good. I can’t emphasize enough how little credit I feel like I should take for that prediction.”

He continued: “It’s a little like, if we had predicted [in the show] that Hillary Clinton was the president in 2017, there would probably be people asking me about that now. Saying Hillary Clinton was running for president in 2014 or 2013… that would’ve also been a pretty easy call to make based on the information that we had at the time. We’re not like wizards.”

Morales, the actress behind Lucy, got excited about the potential outcome on the Cubs’ path to victory in late October, tweeting out photographic proof from the show and writing, “There is a chance Lucy predicted the future #ParksandRec.” Check out the scene below.
