Martin Sheen appears in election PSA

Having plenty of fictional experience in the White House, Martin Sheen is continuing to urge voters to make their voice heard on Election Day.

In the latest #VoteYourFuture video from Anonymous Content, Sheen, who played President Josiah Bartlet for seven seasons on The West Wing, powerfully recites noted Bengali poet Rabindrananth Tagore’s “Chitto jetha bhoyshunyo,” translated into English as “Where the mind is without fear.”

“We are called to lift up this nation and all its people to the place where the heart is without fear and the head is held high,” says Sheen, speaking the words that Tagore wrote over 100 years ago when looking toward an independent India.

Sheen, who recently won EW’s Best Pop Culture Presidents bracket, has been an active figure in trying to compel people to vote. Last week, he starred in a PSA from Joss Whedon, where The West Wing star explained that there is much more at stake with voting than just the next president.
