Geoffrey Rush is channeling Albert Einstein in the upcoming series, Genius.

National Geographic shared a first look photo of Rush as the theoretical physicist Saturday, featuring his iconic messy hairdo. The scripted series, a first for the network, will also mark its first step into an anthology series. The 10-episode premiere season will focus on Einstein and his rise from a rebellious but imaginative patent clerk, to a key figure in the study of atoms.

The story will be based on Walter Isaacson’s critically acclaimed book, Einstein: His Life and Universe, with the screenplay adaptation by writer Noah Pink. Johnny Flynn (Lovesick) will play the young Einstein, while Emily Watson (The Theory of Everything) will take on the role of the scientist’s second wife Elsa.

The pilot episode will be directed by Ron Howard, who will also executive produce the series. Each following season will follow a different innovator from history, providing a long landscape for narrative storytelling on the cable channel.
